Patient information
Patient with surgical metal in the lumbar spine and a Medtronic brain stimulator.
The MR scanning conditions for this Medtronic brain stimulator are:
-Maximum spatial field gradient value must be less then, or equal to, 1900 Gauss/cm.
-Maximum slew rate value for the implant is less then, or equal to, 200 T/m/sec.
-Maximum RF energy applied during the study must be either less then, or equal to, 0.1 W/kg or 2 uT B1+rms.
Adjusting the ExamCard to fit within the specified SAR value of maximum 0.1 W/kg, would dramatically increase the scan time to a total of 4 hours and 9 minutes!
By entering the maximum specified SAR value of 2 uT B1+rms and using ScanWise Implant, step-by-step guidance for entering the condition values and automatically applying these values for the entire examination, the total scan time could be reduced to 49 minutes.
However, the maximum scan duration for this MR Conditional implant to be within the MR scanner is specified to not exceed a total of 30 minutes.
By integrating Compressed SENSE into the ExamCard the total exam time could be further reduced to 28 minutes.
